Medical Surgical Unit
Medical Surgical Services consists of 3 unique medical units: a 22 bed Medical Pulmonary unit; a 36 bed General Medical unit with a hospice suite; and a 24 bed Post Surgical unit. Each progressive work environment is led by teams of compassionate, friendly, customer-focused healthcare professionals who share common values for providing excellent quality care. A team-based model approach is utilized for providing holistic care. The patient care model consists of an independent charge nurse, a team-leading staff nurse, and nursing assistants. Our cohesive environment allows for the nursing staff to spend additional time with each patient.
Most units consist of both private and semi-private rooms, which include individual flat screen televisions. A voice call system is utilized for patients to request assistance from the patient care staff.
Each medical surgical unit is coordinated by a clinical supervisor under the management of a nurse director, who promotes a collaborative, professional work style. Treating each patient as if he/she is a personal family member is our best practice philosophy with a motto of “teamwork for providing excellent quality care.”
The Surgical Services Department is located on the ground floor of the hospital. The department provides preoperative services for invasive and noninvasive procedures and immediate postoperative care on a 24-hour basis. The department staffs one room for Open Heart Service. The Surgical Services Department provides a safe and comfortable environment for both patients and personnel in order to provide optimum assistance to the surgeons in meeting the emergency, preventive and restorative health needs of the patients. The staff provides quality-conscious, competent and cost-effective care with respect for life and dignity.
